“Reach out to everyone with the Gospel.”

This was the theme of Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler’s address to participants at the 77th annual Michigan District “I have the privilege of being one voice to a million,” Dr. Zeigler, the speaker of The Lutheran Hour, said. “We have one million voices that can reach out to one person.”

He asked the audience “How often have you had a conversation about faith (or lack of faith) with anyone in the last year.”

“We need to live the faith like people in the New Testament did,” Dr. Zeigler said. “Eager conversationalists are people who have a clear understanding that salvation, comes from, believing in the Lord Jesus.”

He mentioned how Jesus, in his ministry, dealt with shy and reluctant followers.

Dr. Rev Zeigler concluded his talk: “This is how y0u can witness to others, one person at a time.”

“Almost five billion people on this planet do not follow Christ,” said Tom Rehkopf, ministry advancement officer for LHM. “We are at a Crossroads.”

LHM is focusing on four pillars:

•Bring the Gospel to the unchurched around the world.

•Engage communities in the digital mission field.

•Grow God’s Kingdom through expanded media outreach.

•Energize, equip and engage laity for outreach.

He noted LHM partners with Barna Research.

He said materials have been developed to help train people. It’s a part of LHMlearn.

“There are Bible studies and other guides,” Rehkopf said. “It’s easy to access.”

He talked about Project Connect. A booklet ministry. Project Connect offers topical booklets covering nearly 60 subjects and offer hope and comfort to hurting people.

Rehkopf said “we look for places where there hasn’t been an opportunity to share the Gospel. We go for unreached people.”

Smart phones, “is where people are at today. It’s a huge opportunity.”

Rehkopf mentioned how the League, through THRED, is social media ministry to share the Gospel.

The league has a goal to raise $242 million over five years. The weekly goal is to reach 137 million people every week with the Gospel. An annual goal is $715,535.

“We appreciate your prayers and support.”

President Chuck Bennett chaired the 77th annual convention at the Bavarian Lodge and Conference Center, Frankemuth.

The convention approved a budget of $12,025 for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Dave Marasus led the convention in several song sessions. Pastoral advisor Rev. Travis Downs opened the convention with a devotion.

The convention received greetings from the LWML, president Paul Moeller of the LLL Saginaw Valley Zone and Brad Strorck, LLL Arcadia Retreat chairman.

Celebrate Lutheran Hour Ministries Sunday with us on February 1, 2015-or any Sunday of your choice. You’ll learn about LHM’s long and respected history of providing outreach tools to congregations that work in concert with its Gospel proclamation activities. This foundation serves as the catalyst for partnering with the laity to embolden them to be missionaries in their own communities and around the world.

Rev. Gregory is the current speaker and encourage all LCMS Michigan District congregations to celebrate LHM Sunday on Feb. 1 or any Sunday of your choice.

It is God’s mission to rescue people who have become separated from Him, restore relationships with them and renew them for holy living and service to others. His message is simple: rescue, restoration and renewal are found only in Jesus.

In a world now characterized by dizzying change, God has called the Church to join Him in His mission and challenged it to make His message of hope known in today’s post-Christian culture.

At Lutheran Hour Ministries, we want to be your partner in calling back the lost and hurting—back to the Church; back to forgiveness and grace; back to God and His Word.

We have made it our mission to encourage and support you as you respond to God’s call to action. While you may know us because of our flagship radio ministry, The Lutheran Hour, we invite you to take advantage of everything that Lutheran Hour Ministries offers for discipleship and outreach: evangelism training events and resources; opportunities for hands-on international outreach; resource media and materials for men’s ministry; mission resources for children and schools; and much more.

Here are just a few results of how the Lord blesses Lutheran Hour Ministries with opportunities to plant the Gospel seed in exciting ways around the world:

More than 1 million Gospel touches in the United States each week

More than 800,000 listeners to The Lutheran Hour each week

More than 350,000 individuals responded last year to the culturally relevant outreach efforts of LHM’sInternational Ministry Centers;

More than 54,000 individuals were referred last year to local congregations internationally for spiritual growth and nurturing;

More than 11,000 individuals each year continue to attend church events several times following their referral from an LHM International Ministry Center.

Around 165,000 individuals are currently enrolled in Bible Correspondence Courses offered by LHM’sInternational Ministry Centers;

More than 25,000 individuals have been trained to witness through MISSION U and its predecessor program, Equipping to Share;

More than 13,000 individuals are registered for the Men’s NetWork; and individuals from nearly 4,000 congregations of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and Lutheran Church—Canada are registered for the Men’s NetWork.

Rescue. Restoration. Renewal: His mission for the Church; His mission for us; our message to the world. Together, by the power of God’s Holy Spirit, we can live that message and spread it to our communities and beyond.

Phil Krauss I of Brooklyn, Mich., is a past district president for Michigan LLL and has attended meetings where is was recently disclosed how all LLLers can become active in various ways.

One of the basic duties for any member would be to educate their local (and neighboring) pastors and congregational members about LLL and get them motivate to support the league. The board should promote Lutheran Hour Ministries Sunday as much as possible to district congregations. All board members should continue to promote LHM wherever and whenever possible.

Ambassadors: In working with St. Louis, the district needs to continue to do what it can to make sure existing ambassadors in our district are informed and active. The president, through other board members, should make sure the process is continuing. Where possible, board members should try to find potential ambassadors at other nearby churches and coordinate their activities through St. Louis.

It is essential that members of the board from all across the district are made aware of who the ambassadors are in their area and which churches do not have ambassadors. The president and or his board rep who is supervising ambassadors needs to make sure that on a regular basis, this information is being distributed to those district LLLers who want to make sure LLL work is being done in various churches.

All work needs to be communicated with St. Louis in conjunction with the ambassadors work it is doing already in particular areas of our district.

Ambassadors should be invited to all zone and district meetings and conventions and encouraged to participate.

Resources: Through the district and zone boards and ambassadors, resources that are available (Lenten and Advent booklets, etc.) should be made known to churches and other members.
